Coaching based leadership development

Traditionally, leadership programmes have a coaching skills component, however it is very limited. Our coaching-based leadership development, places coaching at the heart of leadership learning and growth, transforming people’s approach to leadership. Learning how to lead effectively and coach practically around employees and their performance.

We explore core leadership concepts, practice and approaches, then explore how to bring them to life, as a coaching leader. In this way coaching enables leadership and  leadership embeds the coaching. Win:win.

Abintus’ development is both interactive and challenging. We take pride in developing relationships, building insight, sharing feedback and challenging mindsets, behaviours and approaches. We challenge for learning. Challenging the status quo, norms and inherited behaviours, because we want each delegate to be the best version of their leadership selves as is possible.

Whilst the development process is about facilitation and training. It is also about using coaching techniques with the delegates, exposing them to best practice and seeing coaching in action.

WORKSHOP PRE-WORK

We strongly believe in the use of pre-work to prime delegates for the development, enable meaningful conversations in the workshops, and squeeze just that little bit more content into the day. The pre-work may consist of mentoring articles, websites, videos or weblinks.

Workshop approaches

During our workshops and sessions we actively engage with various supporting activities – coaching practice, situational analysis, assessments, question creation and use, coaching around leadership models. All to aid and explore the learning process

During multiple day programmes we do advocate the use of ‘homework’. This homework is led by the delegate, theory have control over what they choose to do, play and practice on. This allows for further ownership of their own development.

Client feedback

Motivational and energising

“Nick is an engaging and charismatic trainer, which is a massive benefit when you are spending three days on a course. This was a great training session that was pitched at the correct level and was motivational and energising.”

Freed up my time to develop my leadership skills and grow within my role

“Over the past six months, I’ve had the chance to reflect on how I work, and it didn’t take long to realise that the reason I struggled to make time for coaching at first was because I wasn’t working efficiently. With support from Nick I’ve focused on key areas that enabled me step back from the day-to-day operations, giving me more space to be an effective manager. That, in turn, has freed up time to develop my leadership skills and grow within my role. I understand there is a long way to go and this will be a continuous and evolving process. The impact on me in such a short space of time has been incredibly positive. My work life balance is back on track which is brilliant. The monthly meetings with Nick made me maintain focus and reflect regularly. My line manager has fed back to me that she has noticed some really positive changes in my approach to work and managing my time more effectively as well.”

“My aim after this course is to set my team up for success. Nick is an amazing trainer, very engaged and created a safe and open environment where everyone could share their own experience from which we could learn and grow. He provided valuable insights and made this course applicable, interactive, he challenged our own assumptions and gave us tools to become better coaches.”
